Huddersfield Central Lodge Metro Hotel

11-15 Beast Market, Huddersfield HD1 1QF, UK – 01484 515551

What a lovely hotel, staff are amazing, so friendly and welcoming - best service ever experienced. Fantastic location. Really convenient. Breakfast is yummy. Lots of lovely little touches. rooms spotlessly clean. Secure parking is a massive bonus. Nothing is too much trouble. Once again, the staff are a credit to the hotel, so much so, they're enough to make you return. We will be back, without a doubt. You really can tell it's a family run business and not some faceless impersonal chain

Excellent breakfast and service. Ample secure gated parking. Great location in the centre of Huddersfield. Would recommend to anyone looking for somewhere in Huddersfield.

Travelodge Huddersfield

Leeds Road, Huddersfield HD1 6NW, UK – 0871 984 6501

Never been a fan of Travelodge but this hotel made me change my mind. Really nice and helpful staff, quiet rooms, extremely clean compared to other hotels I stay in regularly. Plenty of parking space and automated access 24/7 ( still - receptionists always keep an eye on everything which I consider a massive plus ). Will stay more often.

Very clean, nice staff. Close to Costa coffee and a very nice pub serving food. About a 20 minute walk from Huddersfield Town centre

Cambridge Hotel

4 Clare Hill, Huddersfield HD1 5BS, UK – 01484 519892

Given the price, cleanliness, location, size and standard of the room, the hotel was really good. Breakfast was included within the price too, so great value for money. I would have given 5 stars save for the door closing mechanisms in the room (fire door closures). Whilst they are necessary to ensure doors are closed, our bathroom door closure was fierce and closed with a great deal of force. My son unfortunately caught his arm in the door as it snapped shut. Just be aware if you’ve got young children..

The hotel is great for business trips and meetings. The hotel is clean but attention to detail is missing, shower heads, corners, radiators etc. I'm not surprised at this as I only saw one cleaner and if she has to do the whole hotel alone she will struggle. Breakfast is buffet style, plenty of choice and chef is happy to meet your requirements.

Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Golden Cock

2 The Village, Farnley Tyas, Huddersfield HD4 6UD, UK – 01484 664863

Excellent food, staff, atmosphere & awesome views. Nothing was too much trouble. Most hygienic eatery ive been to in a long time. Spotlessly clean toilets at the end of a busy weekend. Well done.

Booked for a midweek lunchtime, and glad we did as the place was quite busy. A nice welcome and shown to a lovely area opposite the fireplace. I'd heard the food was good but never expected it to be this good. My wife chose the Vegetable Wellington, and it looked so impressive that it brought approval from nearby diners. That doesn't often happen with Veggie dishes. Apparently it lived up to it's appearance and was delicious. I had the steak and mushroom pie...again a sizeable portion which was absolutely first class. Don't miss out on this place...we loved it.

The Fieldhead

219 Quarmby Rd, Huddersfield HD3 4FB, UK – 01484 654581

Wow, what a view there is from this secluded beer garden. Lovely little pub with great atmosphere and friendly staff. Would recommend. Was there for a christining and the pub put on a great spread.

Friendly local pub. Big beer garden with great views and car parking. Three regularly changing guest ales available. Cash only, does not serve food.

The Grove

2 Spring Grove St, Huddersfield HD1 4BP, UK – 01484 430113

If you love beer, this is defiantly worth a visit, 19 hand drawn casks, lots of craft kegs, over 200 different bottled beers. They have a menu not for food but for the spirits selection. 2 indoor bars and a large outdoor area that is a suntrap. Well behaved dogs and children are allowed. It's not great for hot food, but this is also not what the pub is famed for. Any serious beer drinker that likes good quality and choice needs to try here. If your tastes are more Stella or fosters though, you might be better going elsewhere.

The most wonderful pub in the whole of Yorkshire! An amazing selection of both draught and bottled ales. Friendly staff. A great beer garden. Nice clean toilets. I'd recommend a visit. The Grove is worth moving to Huddersfield for.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Holt Bank Holiday Cottage

31 Gledholt Rd, Huddersfield HD1 4HD, UK – 07523 720773

When we considered converting our old coach house into holiday accommodation I have to admit we received quite a number of slightly negative comments. Having completed a full year, it's clear that there is strong demand for quality, self catering accommodation in this area of Yorkshire, this appears to be increasing further with almost full capacity bookings already in place through to March. What is particularly encouraging is that we are receiving several repeat bookings with our most recent guests just completing their third stay with plans to return before Easter. We have had some great guests from around the world and throughout the length and breadth of Britain, it's been a real pleasure having them stay at Holt Bank.

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation plus Guesthouses

Cliffe House Bed and Breakfast

Thirstin Road, Honley, Honley, Holmfirth HD9 6JG, UK – 01484 340274

This was our base while going wine tasting in Holmfirth. Pete and Debs made us feel very much at home. Lovely people. Instantly felt like we had known them for ages. Excellent breakfast and the attention to detail is amazing - just how the Jam, Marmalade and butter were presented. Little touches like this made for a very lovely and interesting stay. Honley has a great variety of good bars and restaurants. Will be definitely staying again. Dan and Rob

A truly lovely house with the owners, Deb and Pete, treating us like family! The Oakwood room is a delight and the bathroom is fab! Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided from their luxurious own-brand organic collection.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
